Welcome to American Honey the Horse Role-Play Game. You may be wondering just what AHRPG is all about. Should you even sign-up? Is this a role-play that is even going to interest you? We sure hope so. American Honey is a rodeo based role-play game, meaning that we role-play Western horses and their riders in such competitions as barrel racing, roping, calf-tying, and bareback riding.
Why is this site called American Honey if it's about horses?
American Honey is supposed to be the name of the equestrian center that all of our characters (horses and humans) are boarded at. American Honey Stables trains Rodeo horses competitively, and is proud to also house their riders. Humans and their horses come to American Honey to be trained in the art of Western Rodeos, and to get to competition level. It is the name of the place that we will be mainly role-playing at. With the exception of when we go to competitions and such.
You may be a little bit confused about the Main Role-Play boards. What does it mean: Horse Threads and Human Threads?
Horse Threads are role-play threads that are written in the perspective of the horse. Here's an example:
"The stallion pawed the ground and snorted, looking up at the pretty Paint mare. "I'll admit, you are an attractive mare, but that's not going to stop me from beating you at roping. Don't think that I'm going to go easy on you just because you're a female." He whinnied to her. As Donald pulled on his reins, the stallion gave the Paint one last neigh before obeying his rider, Donald, and turning around."
See? You're role-playing your horse character instead of your human. Human Threads are threads that are set in human perspective, so that you're human characters will be the ones talking. Here's an example of a Human Thread:
"Rachel sighed, leaning back against Stormy's broad shoulder. It was almost time for the barrel racing to start. "Oh, you better run fast, Stormy." She said softly to her horse, a hint of teasing to her tone. She lightly kissed her stallion's gray shoulder. Glancing up, Rachel's hazel eyes landed on a too familiar girl. "What is Tessa doing here?" Rachel growled into Stormy's mane, glaring at her old enemy. She'd thought that Tessa had quit barrel racing after an injury. Obviously not."
I hope this makes sense to you. In Horse Threads, you're horses will be doing the talking and in Human Threads you're humans will be doing the talking. Make sense? So, when going to a thread, make sure to check if it is a Horse Thread or a Human Thread. All threads will say what perspective they are at the beginning of the them (the header) and many will also say it in the title.
Up in the Main Role-Play you can decide if you feel like role-playing from the persons point-of-view or the horses, then you can continue on to actual role-playing. In each of the boards, you'll find a selection of threads to choose from. Many of the threads are different places to role-play at. The Calf Barn, for example, is a place that you can go to role-play the training of Calf-Tiers. The Barrel Racing Arena is for barrel race training. There is other things to RP as well, such as in the Dorms (where you're human characters will be sleeping and living) or the Stables (where your horse characters will be sleeping and living) as well as a diverse range of other threads and options to choose from. Remember, AHRPG is still under construction and is susceptible to change at ALL times.
